Welcome to the official website for the 33rd World Dance Research Congress of the International Dance Council CID at UNESCO.
This congress is developed under the theme "Dance Therapy Panorama" aiming to bring together scholars, professionals and practitioners of Dance Therapy from various backgrounds and countries.
We welcome professionals from Dance Therapy as well as from other disciplines of art and science along with dance and psychology such as history, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, theology and medicine.
CID congresses are the largest gatherings of dance specialists world-wide, the best opportunity to present one's work to a wide audience of practitioners, researchers, teachers, choreographers, training institutions, journalists and organizers. Researchers from other fields of the arts and social sciences have been a part of the congresses along with dance professionals. Average attendance is 400 professionals from 40 countries of the 5 continents.
All forms of dance therapy will be represented. Strictly non-profit. In total equality among participants. Not to be confused with festivals, workshops, competitions or open conferences.

Intended primarily for professionals, it is at the same time a trade fair and a participatory event, facilitating contacts among colleagues in view of international cooperation.
To apply for a visa or financial assistance, registered participants receive an official certificate. Absentee conferees can register also; their presentations will be included in the program and the proceedings.
This congress is organized by the Athens Section of CID and the Greek National Dora Stratou Dance Theatre.

Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday : Registration, check-in, visits, meetings etc.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: Research reports, lectures, classes, exhibitions and video projections at 09:30-16:00
Evening classes 18:00-22:00
Sunday: Visits, meetings, group photographs and closing activities.
Travel & Accommodation
We advise you to book a flight on Tuesday or earlier. You can obtain information on cheap flights from the Greek consulate or specialized travel agencies in your country. Book as early as possible to secure low rates.
Ask for a hotel in Plaka, the picturesque old town under the Acropolis. We can send a list of travel gents or hotels.
