40th World Congress on Dance Research

        The World Congress is a scientific conference, a trade fair and a participatory event, facilitating networking with colleagues and informal discussions.

      All forms of dance are represented.

   You are invited to take part in the 40th Dance Research Congress 2015, with or without presentations. This unique event is open to all forms of dance: ballet, modern, folk, ballroom, Oriental, tango, therapeutical, recreational, revival etc.

   Venue is the national Dora Stratou Dance Theatre, on the pine tree covered Philopappou Hill opposite the Acroppolis. The Theatre offers daily performances of its 75 member dance and music company since 1953.

   A presentation can be:

- Performance by a company, a duo or a soloist (5 to 15 minutes)

- Lecture with projection of video or slides (20 minutes)

- Class (30 minutes)

- Exhibition and sale of your publications or produce.

   You can declare now your intention to take part, and proceed to registration later. Priority will be given to individuals, companies or schools who are members of the International Dance Council CID at UNESCO, the official organization for dance in the world. Others are invited to apply for membership.

   To apply for a visa and/or financial assistance, registered participants receive an official certificate. We maintain contacts with embassies and consulates to assist participants.

 

- The International Dance Council CID is the official umbrella organization for all forms of dance in all countries of the world.

- CID is recognized by UNESCO, national and local governments, international organizations and institutions.

- Its members are the most prominent federations, associations, schools, companies and individuals in more than 160 countries.

- CID was founded in 1973 within the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, where it is based.

- UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
